Position summary: Research Center for Materials Science is seeking a tenure-track assistant professor “Jokyo” (non-PI [principal investigator] assistant professor) for the Laboratory of Advanced Materials.

Expected starting date

At the earliest convenience from April 1st, 2015

Term

5 years
The research quality and laboratory teaching performance will be reviewed in the 5th year. If successful, the applicant will be promoted to tenured lecturer (non-PI position); otherwise, the applicant will be employed as a project assistant professor with a fixed term of 1 year.

Qualifications

Holder of a doctorate (Ph.D.) degree (as of April 2015). A good command of English and/or Japanese is required. Experience in (i) solid-state chemistry and/or physics and/or (ii) solid-state electrochemistry, is preferred.

Mission

The applicant will join the Laboratory of Advanced Materials at the Department of Chemistry (PI: Prof. Kunio Awaga; http://advmat.chem.nagoya-u.ac.jp/) and cooperate with other members on ongoing projects within the laboratory.
