Understanding and controlling the reaction of enzymes is one of the key research topics in the field of biocatalytic transformation of organic compounds. In our research project, we intended to develop biocatalytic systems by several approaches such as the use of decoy molecules and the reconstitution of proteins with synthetic metal complexes. For example, the biocatalytic systems using decoy molecules developed in our laboratory provides alternatives to conventional chemical processes for small alkane hydroxylation.
